About The Position

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is seeking an Echo Tech/Medical Instrument Technician to support operations at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System. The role involves performing echocardiography services for veteran patients, preparing and positioning them for procedures, and operating echocardiography equipment. The technician will ensure diagnostic-quality images, communicate with providers, maintain clinic readiness, and adhere to various standards of care including those from ARDMS, Joint Commission, American Hospital Association, and VA performance requirements. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate patient records, documenting procedures, protecting patient information in compliance with HIPAA, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and participating in quality assurance activities. The role requires adherence to infection control and patient safety standards, timely reporting of safety incidents, accurate timekeeping, and completion of mandatory training.

Requirements

  • Current certification in Echocardiography by: American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS.
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI) require
  • Minimum 1 year of Echo sonography experience.
  • Must be fully trained and competent in echocardiography services.
  • Current, full, unrestricted certification/licensure.
  • Certifications cannot have been: Restricted, Suspended, Revoked, Voluntarily surrendered, Pending disciplinary action.

  • All candidates must be able to: Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
  • Lift up to 20 lbs
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force

Nice To Haves

  • Vascular imaging experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform echocardiography services for veteran patients.
  • Prepare and position patients for echocardiography procedures.
  • Explain procedures and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout examinations.
  • Operate echocardiography equipment and utilize appropriate imaging techniques.
  • Adjust and calibrate equipment as necessary to obtain diagnostic-quality images.
  • Review image quality and verify diagnostic adequacy.
  • Communicate with providers regarding imaging results when additional evaluation is needed.
  • Maintain clinic readiness and arrive on time for all scheduled shifts.
  • Follow all standards of care established by: ARDMS, Joint Commission, American Hospital Association, VA performance requirements.
  • Maintain complete and accurate patient records.
  • Document all procedures performed.
  • Enter patient care documentation in CPRS/EHR according to VA standards.
  • Protect confidential patient information and comply with HIPAA requirements.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding imaging results and patient care.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities.
  • Complete QM/PI documentation related to procedures and outcomes.
  • Follow infection control and patient safety standards.
  • Prevent patient injury and safety incidents whenever possible.
  • Report patient safety incidents within 24 hours using VA reporting processes.
  • Sign in/out daily and maintain accurate timekeeping records.
  • Complete all mandatory training and orientation requirements.
