About The Position
This is a full-time position at McLeod Cardiology Associates in Myrtle Beach. The Echocardiographer is responsible for greeting and preparing patients for procedures, explaining the process, and ensuring proper patient positioning. They will select and utilize appropriate technical factors for procedures, process completed images to ensure interpretability, and engage in continuing education to maintain professional development. The role also involves complying with all system policies to deliver high-quality service. Primary duties include performing Adult Echocardiography and Stress/Echo tests, maintaining work logs, providing preliminary reports, and collaborating with physicians to establish and meet protocols. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Echocardiogram Technology program
- Reg Diagnostic Med Sonographer (License/Certification)
Responsibilities
- Greets and confirms patients, assists patient with appropriate attire for procedure.
- Explains procedure length, properly positions patient for procedure, and expectations along with desired results.
- Selects and utilizes appropriate technical factors for procedure based on body habits, pathology, and body parts.
- Processes completed images making sure they are of interpretable quality.
- Continues to develop professionally through continuing education programs and in-services.
- Complies with all policies of the system with the intention of delivering the highest quality of service.
- Performs Adult Echocardiography, Stress/Echo tests.
- Maintains work logs.
- Provides preliminary reports.
- Works closely with physicians to ensure protocols are established and met.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
