The Echocardiographer performs echocardiographic and/or vascular exams or procedures in various settings under the direction of cardiologists and radiologists. This role involves applying knowledge of anatomy and pathophysiology, using critical thinking to implement appropriate imaging techniques and procedures to obtain pertinent patient data using established protocols. The Echocardiographer will adjust for appropriate patient or circumstance, and identify potential abnormalities. They will perform adult transthoracic echocardiography with the expectation of assignment to additional areas such as vascular, pediatric, stress, and TEE. The role also includes completing documentation accurately and on time, demonstrating flexibility in learning equipment, supporting department operations, and addressing patient concerns.
