About The Position
Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is hiring an Echocardiographer in Woodbridge, VA. The noninvasive Echocardiographer performs two-dimensional echocardiograms, Doppler echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities for the evaluation of heart disease and blood flow abnormalities. Completes the technologist report in the structured report application.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program (or equivalent education) in accordance with IAC Guidelines.
- Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire
- ACLS within 90 days of hire
- Adult echocardiography registry (RCCS or RCS or RDCS) required within 12 months of hire.
- Echocardiography - 1-yr. exp highly preferred
- Two dimensional echocardiograms
- Clinical Experience in an acute setting
- Must live within a 30-minute drive of the hospital for call purposes.

- Associates or bachelor's degree in Cardiovascular Technology preferred
Responsibilities
- Performs two-dimensional echocardiograms, Doppler echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities for the evaluation of heart disease and blood flow abnormalities.
- Completes the technologist report in the structured report application.
- Manages complex cases in fast-paced environments.
- Communicates with patients and providers.
- Performs measurements of heart structures.
- Visualizes potentially critical findings.
