About The Position

This position performs echocardiograms and vascular studies. The technologist is responsible for their own practice within legal, ethical, and professional boundaries, maintaining clinical expertise and demonstrating proficiency in performing skills within their scope of practice. They will serve as a role model by demonstrating positive team-based behaviors and successfully completing probation and annual skills/competency requirements. Commitment to personal professional growth through advanced knowledge and skills is expected, along with regular and timely attendance. Performance of duties will comply with all laws and regulations governing healthcare organizations. The role involves providing direct patient care, evaluating outcomes, assessing patients as appropriate for procedures, and monitoring them during and after. All echo/vascular imaging services will be performed according to policy and procedure and as directed by a physician. Exams will be performed using DI COM Procedures, with reporting completed according to CVIS workflow. Results and patient response will be evaluated and acted upon accordingly, ensuring delays are prevented or minimized. Safety measures for patients undergoing procedures will be provided. The technologist will monitor quality control of equipment and participate in continuing quality improvement. Images will be evaluated for technical quality, ensuring proper identification is recorded. Responsibility for equipment in the assigned area and reporting malfunctions is expected. Participation in CQI activities and specific quality control duties as assigned is also required. Communication of patient/family healthcare needs to the appropriate healthcare provider is essential, including timely reporting of variances or significant events/results. Patient's clinical history will be corroborated with the procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.

Requirements

High School or GED
None
Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or registry eligible and complete registry within 4 months of employment in both Echo and Vascular Imaging

Evaluates results of procedures and patient response and takes action accordingly.
Performs duties and responsibilities such that delays are prevented and/or minimized.
Provides safety measures for patients undergoing procedures.

Evaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded.
