Join us in making a real difference in the health of our community. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Echo Technologist to join our outpatient cardiology team in the Bronx. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality echocardiograms, including transthoracic and stress echocardiograms, to assist in the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular conditions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in cardiovascular technology or related field preferred.
  • Graduate of cardiovascular sonography program
  • Ultrasound registration as an RDMS as well as current BLS certification are required.
  • One to two years’ experience in echocardiography
  • Able to start as soon as possible
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic echocardiograms, including transthoracic and stress echocardiograms, on patients.
  • Assist in transesophageal echocardiograms and echo-guided invasive procedures as needed.
  • Prepare preliminary reports and transmit studies to the cardiology team.
  • Maintain and operate echocardiography equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
  • Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures, providing clear instructions and addressing concerns.
  • Adhere to safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior staff and students as required.
