About The Position

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience
Active American Heart Association BLS is required
Advanced certification such as Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) is required
Proficiency with advanced echocardiography techniques like stress echocardiography or transesophageal echocardiograms is required
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability
Must pass a drug screen and background check
Complete additional facility onboarding forms as assigned

Responsibilities

Perform echocardiograms on patients to assess heart function and detect abnormalities
Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment ensuring it functions correctly
Explain procedures to patients and address any concerns they may have
Review and interpret preliminary results, highlighting any abnormal findings for the cardiologist
Record and store echocardiogram images and patient information in the medical records system
Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare team members to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment
Follow safety protocols and infection control procedures to ensure patient and staff safety
Monitor patient vitals and response during the procedure to ensure their well-being
Maintain continuing education and stay updated with advances in echocardiography technology and practices
Provide emotional support to patients and their families during the diagnostic procedure
