About The Position

WELL Health Diagnostic Centres is seeking a skilled and certified Echo Technologist to perform and test patients for 2D Echos. The clinic is a collaborative, fast-growing site in central SW Calgary with state-of-the-art technology and a strong patient experience. Opportunities are available for full-time, part-time, and casual employment. The company offers potential sign-on and relocation bonuses.

Requirements

0-2 years of related experience – open to hiring new graduates!
ARDMS or Sonography Canada certification (Registration with ACMDTT is required).
Current CPR certificate.
Ability to perform various Echocardiogram machines (primarily Philips iE33, GE Vivid s6, GE Vivid E9).
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and training.
Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
A cheerful, positive attitude and the ability to work effectively with others as well as the ability to work independently and treat everyone with respect, dignity, and kindness.

Nice To Haves

IV insertion is preferred but not mandatory.
The ability to perform Stress and Contrast Echocardiograms is an asset.

Responsibilities

Ensuring patient identification, safety, and preparation prior to a scan while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Greeting patients, explaining forthcoming tests, positioning patients, and preparing them for the examination.
Observing patients during the diagnostic procedure, noting any symptoms or changes in vital signs, and summoning medical aid when necessary.
Performing all required quality control assessments.
Working in compliance with related policies, health and safety legislation, and best practices.
Confirming procedures for proper equipment maintenance are completed in accordance with department standards.
Ensuring equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner.
Preparing and organizing reports as required.
Other duties as assigned.
