About The Position

Performs all required ultrasound and clinical evaluations at a technical level not requiring direct supervision. Assists the Lead Echo Technologist with the daily operations of the echocardiology laboratory and training staff as needed. Always maintains a high standard of medical ethics and is self-motivated to increase level of competence under the supervision of the Manager of Noninvasive Cardiology. Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images. Coordinates work schedule with Manager of Noninvasive Cardiology to assure workload coverage. Consults with referring MD, patient chart, and/or lead technologist regarding patients’ history to determined appropriate lab procedure when necessary. Assists with accreditation requirements and submission of accreditation application.

Requirements

  • RDCS-Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or RCS –Registered Cardiac Sonographer Echocardiology registry eligible through accredited cardiovascular program
  • Echocardiology Registered within 1 year of hire.
  • PACS-Digital imaging system
  • EKG, Holter and event monitors.
  • Routine echocardiology lab supplies, equipment (ultrasound imaging machine) and medications specific to assigned patient population.
  • Computer terminal and printouts.
  • Equipment specific to patient population served
