About The Position

This role involves operating, adjusting, and maintaining imaging equipment to perform diagnostic echocardiography examinations. The Echo Tech will accurately position patients, select appropriate technical parameters, and recognize anatomical structures, artifacts, and pathology to ensure diagnostic quality. The position requires adherence to safety and quality control standards, compliance with regulatory requirements, and timely submission of high-quality images and documentation to PACS. Maintaining a clean and safe imaging environment is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
  • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Cardiac-Intrvn Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Sonography Tech specializing in Cardiac credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

  • Previous Echo experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, adjust, and maintain imaging equipment while accurately positioning patients and selecting appropriate anatomical and technical parameters for diagnostic examinations.
  • Perform routine and complex imaging studies, manually maneuver transducers as required, and assist with a variety of imaging procedures.
  • Recognize relevant anatomical structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations to ensure accurate image acquisition and diagnostic quality.
  • Implement safety and quality control standards while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and departmental requirements.
  • Ensure timely submission of high-quality images and documentation to PACS, including accurate patient information and lead markers, while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly imaging environment.
