About The Position

The Echo Sonographer II performs echocardiogram or transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) exams using color and spectral Doppler and 2-D imaging in inpatient settings throughout the Medical Center, including procedural areas, recovery rooms, and the Emergency Department. The role requires proficiency in performing all procedures and competency with related ultrasound equipment and computers. The position is part of the Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai, a cardiovascular care, research, and teaching organization.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduation from an accredited ultrasound school.
• Current ARDMS or CCI certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a full-time sonographer.

Responsibilities

• Perform echocardiogram or TTE exams using color Doppler, spectral Doppler, and 2-D imaging.
• Provide inpatient imaging throughout the Medical Center, including procedural areas, recovery rooms, and the Emergency Department.
• Demonstrate proficiency in performing all procedures and competency in using related ultrasound equipment and computers.
