About The Position

This is a full-time Echo Cardiac Technologist opportunity located in Carmel, Indiana. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. There is a call rotation approximately every fifth week, covering off-hours from Monday-Friday 5:30 PM to 7:00 AM and Saturday-Sunday 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Holiday call coverage is also included and rotated annually among team members. A sign-on bonus is available for eligible applicants.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Applicant must be eligible to sit for their registry at the time of hire and must successfully pass it within one year from start date through one of the following: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS): Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, RDCS; or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): Registered Cardiac Sonographer, RCS, Advanced Cardiac Sonographer, ACS, or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer, RCCS.
  • Pass written exam for Basic EKG interpretation with score >85% initially and repeat yearly.
  • Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.

Nice To Haves

  • May also require Advanced Life Support certification, if applicable.
  • May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
  • May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Echocardiography, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs, administers & monitors Cardio-Diagnostic tests with primary emphasis on cardiac sonography and doppler studies.
  • Administers all Cardio-Diagnostic tests.
  • Provides physician with preliminary findings of recorded data through monitoring and performing the necessary calculations, in a timely fashion while demonstrating the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric.
  • Follows physician's instructions, prepares and operates equipment and positions patients correctly in order to record the requested diagnostic images.
  • Treats patients with care and respect.
