About The Position

Riley Children's Hospital Cardiology team is seeking a part-time Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer to join our echo lab. In this role, you will perform specialized diagnostic echocardiograms for pediatric patients while working alongside an expert team. Candidates should possess knowledge of complex congenital heart disease and surgical repairs. Prior experience in pediatric echo is preferred, but we are fully willing to train the right candidate who brings strong core sonography skills and a passion for pediatric care. This position offers a 3-day per week schedule with on-call expectations. New Grads encouraged to apply! Sign-on bonus available to eligible applicants!

Requirements

Basic Life Support certification required.
Applicant must be eligible to sit for their registry at the time of hire and must successfully pass it within one year from start date through one of the following: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS): Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, RDCS; or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): Registered Cardiac Sonographer, RCS, Advanced Cardiac Sonographer, ACS, or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer, RCCS.
May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable.
Pass written exam for Basic EKG interpretation with score >85% initially and repeat yearly.
Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in pediatric echo is preferred
Minimum of one year of experience in Echocardiography, preferred.
May also require Advanced Life Support certification, if applicable.

Responsibilities

Performs, administers & monitors Cardio-Diagnostic tests with primary emphasis on cardiac sonography and doppler studies.
Administers all Cardio-Diagnostic tests.
Provides physician with preliminary findings of recorded data through monitoring and performing the necessary calculations, in a timely fashion while demonstrating the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric.
Follows physician's instructions, prepares and operates equipment and positions patients correctly in order to record the requested diagnostic images.
Treats patients with care and respect.
