About The Position

The RF, ASIC, and MMIC Design Department at Raytheon is seeking an Electrical Computer Aided Design Engineer (ECAD). This role is responsible for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs from conception to manufacturing, including the creation of PCB, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), and Schematic drawings for suppliers. The engineer will perform Schematic Capture, Component Placement, Routing of Traces, and Gerber/ODB++ file creation using software such as Siemens: Xpedition Enterprise and BluePrint-PCB. The position involves designing layouts for Rigid, Flex, and Rigid-Flex assemblies and working on various design updates, changes, and process improvement projects. A key aspect of the role is daily interface with various engineering levels and disciplines, including Electrical, Mechanical, Components, Test, and Producibility Engineering, to ensure design requirements are met while considering cost, cycle time, and producibility.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work history with PCB manufacturing or CCA manufacturing principles that affect circuitry and component layout
  • Experience with the electrical design process, prefer Siemens Xpedition Tools
  • History with laying out Rigid, Flex, or Rigid-Flex boards
  • ABET accredited school is preferred, although not required accreditation standard
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA desired
  • Board layout experience of single and multi-lamination boards
  • Experience in layout tools such as Siemens Xpedition Enterprise, Altium, EAGLE, or alike
  • Familiarity with IPC 6012 & IPC 6013 is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively multi-task
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with coworkers from diverse communities and cultures, in-person and remotely
  • Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs from conception to manufacturing
  • Creation of the PCB, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), and Schematic drawings for suppliers
  • Schematic Capture, Component Placement, Routing of Traces, Gerber/ODB++ file creation
  • Utilizing software such as Siemens: Xpedition Enterprise and BluePrint-PCB for drawings
  • Design layouts including Rigid, Flex, and Rigid-Flex assemblies
  • Work designs include full designs, re-spins, drawing updates, change notices, copper changes, and process improvement projects within and outside own discipline
  • Daily interface with various engineering levels along with different engineering disciplines including, but not limited to Electrical, Mechanical, Components, Test, and Producibility Engineering disciplines to ensure that the overall design requirements are captured, keeping cost, cycle time, and producibility in mind
