About The Position

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Electron Beam Weld (EBW) Machine Operator is key in assisting with meeting the department’s goals by performing machine set-up, maintaining quality standards, meeting daily production targets, and troubleshooting equipment when required.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • At least 1-3 years of previous manufacturing experience required
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports, manuals, technical procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a metals industry preferred
  • Experience in use of micrometers and other precision measurement tools
  • Previous EB Weld machine operation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coil handling which involves removing coils from skids, loading coils to the payoff, and measuring gauge and width if the material with measuring devices.
  • Sets up the designated EBW machine including interpreting process sheets, setting machine parameters, and using lubrication.
  • Operates the machine while adhering to quality parameters and in-process checks.
  • Monitors machine cycles and mill operation to detect jamming and to ensure that products conform to specifications.
  • Examines, inspects, and measures raw materials and finished products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Reads EBW orders, blueprints, and annealing schedule to determine setup specifications, work sequences, product dimensions, and installation procedures.
  • Manipulates controls and observes dial indicators in order to monitor, adjust and regulate speeds of machine mechanisms.
  • Threads or feeds material through EBW machine or starts and controls mechanisms that automatically feeds metal into the machine.
  • Performs data entry into the SAP software system.
