THE OPPORTUNITY: We are experiencing significant growth and are expanding our sales organization. The Eastern Sales Director will play a key role in driving revenue, expanding market share across the medical-pipped equipment and laboratory markets, and shaping strategic initiatives that define the next chapter of Powerex’s success. In this role, you will work closely with Powerex regional sales engineers, distribution partners, contractors, design engineers, and major end users to develop and execute territory strategies based on customer needs, competitive activity, and market potential. Top performers demonstrate a consultative sales approach, strong “hunter” instincts, and the ability to influence decision-makers. You will mentor and support regional sales representatives, train distribution partners, build lasting end-user relationships, and ensure Powerex products are specified in new construction projects. Location/Territory: Eastern U.S. —New England, Mid Atlantic, South Atlantic, East South Central, and West South Central Remote within territory or at our Harrison, OH and/or Mount Juliet, TN locations

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required; technical or engineering background preferred.
  • 5+ years of capital equipment sales experience preferred, with demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience managing technical sales representatives
  • Experience with medical gas equipment, compressed air systems, or vacuum systems strongly preferred.
  • Experience selling into hospitals, healthcare facilities, and/or laboratory environments preferred.
  • Proven experience managing and growing a defined territory, including direct customer relationships and distribution/partner networks.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience, including mentoring and developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Excellent time management, communication, and territory planning skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Travel as needed to support territory growth and customer engagement.

Nice To Haves

  • ASSE certification/NFPA 99 knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve or exceed annual revenue targets for Eastern territory.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop regional sales representatives.
  • Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan to drive product promotion, market penetration, and revenue growth.
  • Understand and align distributor sales efforts, marketing activities, and competitive positioning.
  • Manage and support the distributor network, including product training and competitive response strategies.
  • Travel with regional representatives and proactively pursue new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong direct relationships with key end users to ensure satisfaction and reference ability.
  • Delivering educational presentations to engineers, contractors, and distribution partners
  • Monitor competitive activity, industry trends, and market developments.
  • Participate in industry trade organizations, networking events, and continuing education opportunities.
