As the East Territory Sales Executive, you will drive PNC's Small Business Merchant Services growth across a broad geographic territory. Your responsibilities include driving revenue growth, market expansion, and instilling disciplined sales execution across the territory. This role sits at the intersection of payments expertise, bank partnership, and frontline sales leadership, with responsibility for translating organizational strategy into measurable outcomes. This position is explicitly execution‑oriented. Success will be defined by the ability to mobilize teams, influence across a matrixed bank environment, and deliver sustained performance in a highly competitive payments and merchant services landscape. Your leadership will directly impact PNC’s ability to achieve sustained, scalable growth, delivering measurable performance improvement while enhancing the client and employee experience across the territory.

Requirements

  • Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
  • Industry-relevant experience is typically 8+ years.
  • At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required.
  • Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the regional sales strategy for Small Business Merchant Services across the East Territory, ensuring alignment with overall bank and payments objectives.
  • Drive new client acquisition, penetration of existing relationships, and revenue growth through direct sales teams and bank partner channels.
  • Build, develop, and manage high-performing sales leaders and frontline teams, establishing clear expectations, metrics, and accountability.
  • Cultivate key talent and encourage direct and cross-functional promotions throughout PNC.
  • Partner closely with Business Banking and other internal stakeholders to embed merchant solutions into broader client conversations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on payments and merchant services, advising internal partners and clients on industry trends, competitive solutions, and value propositions.
  • Monitor regional performance against targets, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions to ensure consistent execution.
  • Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Product partners to ensure solutions are delivered in a compliant, scalable, and client-centric manner.
  • Manages and directs team(s) to achieve business results and customer experience goals.
  • May have direct sales and client responsibilities and may manage both individual contributors and other managers.
  • Oversees team(s)'s financial results.
  • Has broader span of control than Leader I.

  • Manages effective network of senior internal and external relationships, such as community or industry relationships, to actively acquire new clients and/or expand existing clients and enhance the client experience.
  • Networks within the industry and may serve in a leadership role in the community, industry or market.
  • Leads the team to bring the full range of PNC's products and services to the client.
  • Assists other team members in developing their network.
  • Leverages reporting and sales tools to proactively identify and coach team to successfully convert sales opportunities.
  • Develops team members while monitoring progress against goals.
  • May support the development of other managers.
  • Identifies high-potentials and creates winning teams.
  • Motivates and develops staff, including acquiring and retaining top talent and managing performance-based issues.
  • Effectively plans, organizes, directs, analyzes and evaluates staff and processes.
