The Earn While You Learn EMT Program is designed for individuals who are passionate about serving their community and pursuing a career in Emergency Medical Services. Participants are employed by CCM Health while completing an approved EMT education program. The program provides paid employment, hands-on experience alongside experienced EMTs, and covers the cost of the EMT course and the National Registry EMT (NREMT) examination. Participants will work up to a 0.5 FTE schedule while enrolled in the program, gaining valuable field exposure by shadowing licensed EMTs. Upon successful completion of the EMT course, National Registry certification, Minnesota EMT certification, and department field training, participants will transition into an EMT position. In exchange for the department's investment in training and education, participants are required to sign a two-year employment agreement upon acceptance into the program. The two-year commitment begins on the participant's first day working as an EMT.
