About The Position

This position plays an important role in ensuring that childcare facilities operate safely and meet state requirements. The work supports healthy learning environments for children across the region. As an Early Learning Certification Representative, you will perform the following duties: Public Guidance: Inform the public and providers about certification inquiries, orientation details, technical requirements, and incoming calls. Compliance Review: Investigate facilities for applications, inspections, monitoring visits, and complaints using legal and regulatory guidelines to include allegations of illegally operating facilities. Follow Up Actions: Complete inspection reports, determine operator compliance, and prepare certification or sanction documents. Interagency Work: Participate in Department initiatives, review policy proposals, and collaborate with partners on child care and quality programs. Program Support: Use electronic systems and prepare documents needed to support program operations.

Requirements

  • Two years of professional experience providing direct services to children and youth and a bachelor’s degree that includes 24 semester hours of college level courses in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, psychology, or human development; or An equivalent combination of professional experience and training, which includes one year of professional experience providing direct services to children and youth and 24 semester hours of college level courses in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, psychology, or human development.
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to one of the following counties within the Southeast Region within the first 6 months of employment: Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery or Philadelphia.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
