About The Position

The Early Learning Center Teacher will be responsible for providing care and education to children in various age groups: infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. This role involves implementing curriculum, fostering developmental milestones, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. The position focuses on afternoon hours.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of one year college certificate, university, or equivalent experience and additional competencies.
• Minimum 6 months related work experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to walk, bend, stand, squat, or sit on the floor throughout their shift.
• Must be able to physically respond quickly in an emergency.
• Understand the risk of exposure to blood and bodily fluids and use universal precautions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in an educational setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide nurturing behaviors to infants, including holding, rocking, and talking to them.
• Read stories to infants and children daily.
• Feed infants and toddlers, talking to them during meals.
• Engage infants in floor play and introduce learning aids.
• Encourage infant developmental milestones (sitting, crawling, walking, etc.).
• Practice appropriate sanitary practices, including hand washing for self and children.
• Assist toddlers with independence in dressing and eating.
• Engage toddlers in games promoting language and gross motor skills.
• Introduce preschoolers to drawing and play activities.
• Follow curriculum and implement daily lesson plans for preschoolers.
• Use activity centers appropriately with preschoolers.
• Engage preschoolers in conversation individually and in group settings.
• Obtain 12 clock hours of professional development per licensing year.
• Attend requested or required workshops or courses.
• Share information from professional development with the administrative team or teaching staff.
• Complete pediatric first aid and CPR training every two years.
