About The Position

Mentor Community Services, part of the Sevita family, provides community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role involves providing in-home early intervention specialized services for infants and toddlers to help them naturally learn and develop. The position offers a mission-driven environment with opportunities for career growth within the company. Services are provided in the homes of children and their parents/guardians.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a health/human services-related major required OR one year of full-time college for each year of experience working/volunteering with children.
  • Valid CA driver’s license in good standing.
  • At least one year of history as a licensed driver (in any US state).
  • Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance coverage.
  • Effective communication skills to manage relationships.
  • A compassionate approach.
  • A commitment to quality in everything you do.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Availability for sessions during daytime weekdays, with some flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and provide weekly early educational in-home services for a caseload of infants/toddlers with disabilities, including developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders.
  • Administer and document all program assessments and updates accurately to meet timelines.
  • Design, implement, and adapt activities for language, cognitive, fine and gross motor, sensory, self-help, and social/emotional development for each individual child, utilizing best practices.
  • Model effective adult-child interactions and provide written information on parenting and child development.
  • Provide parents/guardians with written weekly activities and effective coaching.
  • Monitor, document, and share the child’s progress with the family and team.
