About The Position

Mentor Community Services, part of the Sevita family, provides community-based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role involves providing in-home early intervention specialized services for infants and toddlers to help them naturally learn and develop. The position offers a mission-driven environment with opportunities for career growth within the company. Services are provided in the homes of children and their parents/guardians.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in a health/human services-related major required OR one year of full-time college for each year of experience working/volunteering with children.
Valid CA driver’s license in good standing.
At least one year of history as a licensed driver (in any US state).
Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance coverage.
Effective communication skills to manage relationships.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Availability for sessions during daytime weekdays, with some flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, and provide weekly early educational in-home services for a caseload of infants/toddlers with disabilities, including developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders.
Administer and document all program assessments and updates accurately to meet timelines.
Design, implement, and adapt activities for language, cognitive, fine and gross motor, sensory, self-help, and social/emotional development for each individual child, utilizing best practices.
Model effective adult-child interactions and provide written information on parenting and child development.
Provide parents/guardians with written weekly activities and effective coaching.
Monitor, document, and share the child’s progress with the family and team.
