About The Position

About Play is seeking an Early Interventionist to serve families and children ages birth to six years who have developmental delays or disabilities in Charleston, North Charleston, and Summerville counties in South Carolina. The ideal candidate will be energetic, creative, motivated, and passion-driven with strong time management and organizational skills. This role involves providing family-centered early intervention services, performing family training with caregivers and children in their natural environment, offering education and support in child development and parenting, developing strategies to promote child development, and monitoring child and family progress.

Requirements

  • Must reside in South Carolina.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Family & Consumer Science, or any related field.
  • 1 year of documented experience working with children birth to six years old.
  • Driver's License
  • Reliable Car

Nice To Haves

  • Prior early interventionist experience.
  • Prior teaching experience.
  • Prior early child development experience.
  • Recent & upcoming college graduate with a degree in a related field and a willingness for on-the-job training.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in ANY field and 5 years of documented experience with infants and toddlers OR children age birth to 5 years with disabilities.
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification (Heartsaver, Infant & Child)
  • Willingness to travel 50-75%

Responsibilities

  • Provide family-centered early intervention services to families with infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities.
  • Perform Family Training with the caregiver and child in their home, daycare or natural environment setting.
  • Provide training, education, and support to families in the areas of child development, parenting, and family functioning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote the development of the child.
  • Monitor the progress of the child and family.
