About The Position

North Bay Regional Center (NBRC) is seeking an Early Intervention Service Coordinator to provide intake and ongoing assessments for infants and toddlers (0 to 3 years of age) eligible for Early Intervention Services under California Early Start program mandates. This role involves assisting eligible children and their families with coordinating resources, developing Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), and participating in periodic reviews. The Service Coordinator will also play an active role in transition services for toddlers and provide support to families in accessing services to enhance child development and family capacity. Additionally, the position may involve educational and prevention outreach activities and serving as a liaison to community organizations working with high-risk populations. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work or a related field from an accredited university; OR be a credentialed Speech Pathologist or Nurse with a PHN or PNP certification.
  • Three years of experience in working with children in early intervention agencies and resources.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development.
  • Ability to provide transportation during working hours and after-hours emergencies or access to another form of reliable transportation which meets requirements.
  • Ability to provide minimum legal automobile liability insurance.
  • Flexibility in work hours is required to meet the needs of the regional center constituency.
  • Candidates for employment must live within commute distance to their preferred NBRC office, as well as the geographical location of their assigned clients.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience in a professional position at NBRC or another California Regional Center with child case carrying responsibility can be substituted for the above.
  • Minimum qualifications may be waived depending on the agency’s need for specialized skills (such as language abilities).

Responsibilities

  • Provide intake and ongoing assessments of infants and toddlers (0 to 3 years of age) eligible for Early Intervention Services.
  • Assist eligible children and their families with the coordination of other resources.
  • Assist in the development of an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
  • Participate in periodic reviews of the IFSP every six months or more frequently if conditions warrant.
  • Take an active role in transition services for toddlers.
  • Provide service coordination to assist families in accessing services necessary to enhance the development of the child and the capacity of the family to meet the needs of the child.
  • May participate in educational and prevention outreach activities.
  • Serve as liaison to other community organizations that work with populations at high risk for having a developmental disability.
