About The Position

This is a full-time, school-year position for an Early Head Start Home Visitor in Noble CO. The role involves working with parents in their homes to enhance parenting skills and utilize the home as a primary learning environment for the child. The goal is to foster child growth and development, create a safe and secure environment, and assist families in achieving self-sufficiency. The position requires developing a strong, respectful relationship with each child and parent, conducting ongoing child development assessments, and implementing Brightpoint Values.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in Education, Social Services, or related field.
  • Strong oral (speaking and listening) and written communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work in an online database.
  • Ability to work outside the office with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of communications and records.
  • Ability to relate well with staff, visitors, and clients, including individuals from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds, particularly low income.
  • Must have a valid Indiana driver's license.
  • Must maintain minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 on auto insurance when driving for Brightpoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience in Early Childhood Education and/or home visiting preferred.
  • Must obtain the Home Visitors CDA within 12 months of hire.
  • Must become certified in First Aid and CPR within twelve (12) months of employment.
  • Willingness to work some flexible hours, including evenings, when requested.

Responsibilities

  • Help parents improve their parenting skills weekly in their homes.
  • Assist parents in using the home as the child's primary learning environment.
  • Provide learning opportunities to enhance child growth and development.
  • Work with parents and pregnant women to provide a safe and secure environment for children.
  • Encourage children toward self-discipline, self-motivation, and self-actualization.
  • Assist parents in developing and working toward child development goals.
  • Screen infants/toddlers using the Ages and Stages Questionnaire within 45 days of enrollment.
  • Assist families in obtaining a medical and dental home and maintaining up-to-date EPSDT health recommendations.
  • Complete family self-sufficiency screens and assist families in developing goals for self-sufficiency.
  • Develop a warm, caring relationship with each child and parent based on mutual respect.
  • Complete ongoing child development assessments with parents.
  • Plan and implement developmentally sequential activities for children.
  • Implement Brightpoint Values at all times.
