This role involves protecting the physical and mental health and safety of children, ensuring no child is left alone or unsupervised. The floater will assist in providing an organized learning environment that promotes healthy development and children’s skill growth, aligned with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework. This includes assisting with the implementation of prescribed curricula to provide developmentally appropriate learning experiences and supporting screenings, assessments, and ongoing evaluation of a child’s developmental level and progress. The position also supports opportunities for parents and family members to engage in their child’s development and in program services. The employee will follow appropriate practices to keep children safe during all activities, including reporting suspected child abuse and neglect, and ensuring appropriate supervision at all times. Compliance with positive adult-child interactions is expected, as is support and participation in staff development, including completion of minimum training requirements and continuing professional development.
