About The Position

In Ferguson-Florissant, the belief is that college readiness is a mindset, not just a test score. The district is seeking three equity-minded, high-impact Seminar Instructors to lead a summer Early College/Dual Enrollment intensive. This role involves being the Architect of Collegiate Mastery, equipping scholars with the habits, inquiry skills, and professional confidence needed for university-level success. As part of the FFSD "New Chapter," the instructor will serve as the primary navigator for students entering the partnership with St. Louis Community College (STLCC), ensuring every scholar has a clear, empowered path to dual credit success. As a Seminar Instructor, the role involves designing and facilitating an immersive experience to move students toward post-secondary flourishing. This includes harnessing Individual Career Academic Plans (ICAPs) to help students visualize their futures, leading rigorous workshops in WICOR skills (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading), and managing the enrollment pipeline for the upcoming school year at STLCC. The instructor will collaborate with a team of fellow instructors to ensure scholars are not just "eligible" for college, but "prepared" for its rigor.

  • You must possess a valid Math or ELA Certification from MO DESE.
  • You should meet the criteria to be approved as a dual credit instructor with St. Louis Community College.
  • You are committed to promoting dual enrollment access for all students, breaking down the barriers that prevent underrepresented scholars from earning college credit.
  • You can turn a short summer seminar into a high-stakes, engaging launchpad for rising college students.

  • Lead an on-campus visit to STLCC, introducing students to the physical learning resources and collegiate environment that will soon be their own.
