Requirements

Master's degree in social work, counseling, or a related human services field from a regionally accredited institution.
Minimum of three years of clinical training or experience in community mental health and therapy for children.
Licensure in Illinois as LCPC, LPC, or LCSW.
Working towards or holding the ILAIMH Infant Early Childhood Mental Health Credential.
Experience in clinical assessments and outpatient psychotherapy for children, birth to age 5.
Competence in culturally-sensitive interventions for diverse groups.
Bilingual Spanish preferred (must pass a bilingual assessment).
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Networking and community outreach skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and working within an electronic health record system.
Adhere to the Agency’s Code of Ethics and conduct all responsibilities in accordance with the standards outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with background clearance and TB test.
Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of liability insurance.

Responsibilities

Provide ongoing counseling and play-based therapy to children and families.
Participate in staffing, case consultations, and development of Intervention Support Plans.
Offer on-site support and assistance for children and staff.
Build and support reflective practice within the program.
Implement infant/early childhood mental health strategies through programmatic consultation.
Maintain case records and reports according to agency policies and state guidelines, Rule 132 and Rule 140.
Conduct face-to-face interviews for assessments and on-going therapeutic support as outlined in clients’ treatment plans. Sessions may be in office or in the community at clients’ homes.
Lead parent support groups and provide specialized training to staff.
Serve as a member of the Early Childhood Services Administrative Team and attend community meetings.
Access mental health resources, including Mobile Crisis Response, to deliver intensive support services to families.
Mentor Master’s and Doctoral level trainees.
Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and education requirements.
Participate in agency meetings, conferences, and training programs as recommended.
Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.
