About The Position

This is a 10-month, Exempt position with a salary scale of EACC, U1. The role involves planning and providing appropriate learning experiences for students, supervising students in various school-related settings, and monitoring and evaluating student outcomes. The teacher will develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students, while fostering an environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of children. The position also requires maintaining professional competence, appropriate records, and regular attendance. Additional duties may be assigned as prescribed by Maryland State Law, Board of Education policy, Negotiated Agreement, and Building Principal. The role also focuses on assisting students in developing critical-thinking abilities.

Requirements

  • Conferred bachelor’s degree (by August 1st) or higher and meets certification requirements as established by the Maryland State Department of Education.
  • Other experience as established by Maryland Law and Board of Education policy.
  • Knowledge of subject matter and appropriate instructional methodologies.
  • Evidence of exemplary human relation skills.
  • Evidence of exemplary organizational and planning skills.
  • Evidence of ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.

  • Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices.
  • Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintains regular, on-time attendance.
  • Serves on special committees.
  • Other duties as prescribed by Maryland State Law, Board of Education policy, Negotiated Agreement and Building Principal.
  • Assists students in developing critical-thinking abilities by gaining an understanding of the content’s concepts.
