About The Position

Provides instruction and supervision to children in an early childhood classroom setting. Assists the Lead Teacher in the development and implementation of lesson plans and all classroom activities and assignments. Implements the daily schedule and lesson plans to ensure children are productively occupied at all times. Maintains all applicable licensing and accreditation guidelines. Provides guidance and support to children. Communicates with families, ensures the health and safety of children, and ensures the classroom is hygienic.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Six (6) months’ experience in a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to build strong working relationships
  • Problem solving skills
  • Time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating
  • Possess or ability to obtain Entry-Level Child-Care Training (ELECT) within 90 days of employment
  • Possess or ability to obtain Child Development Associate Credential or Certificate of master’s in early childhood education within one (1) year of employment
  • The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)
  • Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for childcare
