Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with young children preferred
- NC Early Childhood Credential preferred but not required to apply
- Ability to meet all required childcare background-check and employment qualifications
- Flexibility to work in different classrooms, with different age groups, and at one or more Sunshine Schools locations
- A genuine love for children and early childhood education
- Warmth, patience, reliability, and the ability to stay calm when the regular routine changes—or someone spills paint on your shoes
Nice To Haves
- NC Early Childhood Credential preferred
Responsibilities
- Step into classrooms when regular teachers are absent and provide the consistency, care, and encouragement children need.
- Follow established classroom routines, support joyful hands-on learning activities, and help children feel comfortable and secure throughout their day.
- Assist with meals, rest time, outdoor play, classroom transitions, and age-appropriate learning experiences.
- Keep children safe and engaged, communicate professionally with families and staff, and become the reliable team member our schools know they can count on.
