About The Position

As part of the newly established Early Childhood Council for Jefferson, Gilpin and Clear Creek Counties, we are seeking a collaborative and relationship-driven Early Childhood Quality Improvement Lead to support and strengthen early childhood programs across our three county region. This position leads quality improvement strategy, provider coaching, technical assistance, and recruitment efforts that help early childhood providers advance quality, sustainability, and participation in Colorado early childhood systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three (3) years of work-related experience
  • Criminal History and MVR Background Checks are required for every position.
  • Offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of criminal history, motor vehicle report, education verification, and/or references.
  • A valid Colorado driver’s license is required for positions that drive on County Business in either a county or personal vehicle shall have a Colorado Driver’s license within 30 days of hire or beginning to serve as an intern or volunteer.

Nice To Haves

  • Either have completed or working towards Colorado Coaching Credential (credentialed within 6 months of being hired)
  • Working knowledge of the Colorado Shines Quality Improvement System, including the use of ERS-3 tools, CLASS, and other Early Care and Education assessment tools as needed and the Professional Development Information System (PDIS)
  • Experience with EQIT, infant/toddler quality initiatives, Universal Preschool (UPK), or CCCAP.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and time-management skills.
  • Ability to facilitate small and large group meetings and provide presentations.
  • Experience working in diverse communities and/or bilingual skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives aligned with Colorado Shines, Universal Preschool (UPK), School Readiness goals, and Early Childhood Council strategic priorities.
  • Provide relationship-based coaching, consultation, and technical assistance to early childhood providers to strengthen program quality, classroom practices, licensing compliance, and business sustainability.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and retention of providers participating in Colorado Shines, UPK, and other quality improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate and implement evidence-based coaching and quality improvement models, including EQ, EQIT, RELATE, LENA Grow/FIND, and other state-supported initiatives.
  • Facilitate collaborative partnerships, provider workgroups, and communities of practice with childcare providers, school districts, community organizations, and state partners.
  • Use data and continuous quality improvement (CQI) practices to monitor provider progress, evaluate outcomes, and support strategic planning and reporting.
  • Support grant implementation, compliance, reporting, and achievement of state and local deliverables related to quality improvement programming.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Colorado early childhood systems, including Colorado Shines, CDEC, CCCAP, UPK, and professional development systems.
