The Public Schools of Brookline seek a paraprofessional to work in an inclusive preschool/prekindergarten classroom sponsored by the Brookline Early Education Program (BEEP). Primary job responsibilities include planning and assisting with daily learning activities, and supporting special education students to successfully access/participate in all classroom activities. The ideal candidate will be reliable, positive, flexible, and motivated to work with young children. In addition, the candidate should demonstrate a collaborative team spirit/attitude with BEEP staff while working under the direction of the classroom teacher. Paraprofessionals will also be able to manage and instruct small and large groups, and support the classroom teacher throughout the school day. It is important for paraprofessionals to be dependable as daily attendance is critical to providing consistent support for our young students. Classroom experience is preferred, as well as the ability to modify directions and provide prompts to students on an as needed basis to ensure success. The ideal candidate will be flexible, work collaboratively with the classroom teacher and multidisciplinary special education specialists, and possess an enthusiasm for working with early childhood students.
