About The Position

Saint Isaac Jogues Catholic School in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, is seeking a long-term substitute teacher for its 4-year-old Preschool classroom. The school is a faith-filled Catholic community that aims to form students in knowledge, holiness, and virtue and to help them grow as disciples of Christ. The substitute will follow the classroom schedules, routines, and lesson plans prepared by the Preschool teacher during the teacher’s maternity leave. Two full-time classroom aides will assist in the classroom. The position runs December 14 through March 24 and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM. The posting also describes it as January–March 2027.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, nurturing, faith-filled, and positive learning environment for young children.
• Follow classroom schedules, routines, and lesson plans prepared by the Preschool teacher who is going on maternity leave.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members.
• Supervise children at all times and maintain health and safety standards.
• Support children’s individual needs and encourage independence, curiosity, and exploration.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
