About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Early Childhood Learning Teacher Assistant at Town of Webb Union School in Old Forge, New York, for the 2026–2027 school year. The assistant works alongside the early childhood team to provide a warm, nurturing, and engaging environment for children ages 10 months through 3 years old. The role supports classroom activities, daily routines, learning experiences, and positive interactions that help children learn, grow, and thrive.

The position is part-time and non-exempt, with approximately 25–30 hours per week scheduled within center hours of 6:30 AM–6:30 PM. Eligible school-age children ages 5–12 enrolled in Healthy Kids Programs may receive employer-paid childcare on the days and during the hours their parent works.

Healthy Kids Programs provides Early Learning, Before and After School, and Summer Camp programs at more than 150 locations. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or at least 1 year of experience working with children under age 13.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physical ability to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.
• Enjoys working with children and helping them learn through play and positive experiences.
• Energy, kindness, patience, and an ability to encourage children's curiosity, creativity, and confidence.
• Ability to work well with teammates and communicate effectively with families.
• Reliability, organization, and commitment to providing exceptional care.

Nice To Haves

• Hands-on experience with children and classroom management, of interest to education majors or future teachers.
• Interest in mentoring children and staying active, of interest to retirees.
• Experience or passion in early childhood development and children's well-being.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the School-Age Childcare Lead to facilitate hands-on activities aligned with the Creative Curriculum and tailored to the children's needs and interests.
• Communicate regularly with parents and family members through the Playground App about their child's daily experiences.
• Cultivate positive adult-child interactions using the CLASS method, helping children feel valued and supported.
• Support the education, health, welfare, and safety of classroom members and the center community by following ECERS/ITERS standards and protocols.
• Support classroom activities, daily routines, learning experiences, and positive interactions for children ages 10 months through 3 years old.
