About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring an Early Childhood Learning Teacher Assistant for our program in Waterloo, NY for the 2026–2027 school year. This role is ideal for individuals who love working with children and helping them learn through play and positive experiences, bringing energy, kindness, and patience to each day. The assistant will enjoy encouraging children's curiosity, creativity, and confidence, and will work well with teammates and communicate effectively with families. Reliability, organization, and a commitment to providing exceptional care are key characteristics for success in this part-time, non-exempt position.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, OR at least 1 year of experience working with children under the age of 13.
• Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
• Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
• Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with the School-Age Childcare Lead to facilitate hands-on activities aligned with the Creative Curriculum, tailored to the unique needs and interests of the children.
• Maintaining regular communication with parents and family members through the Playground App, ensuring transparency and engagement in their child's daily experiences.
• Cultivating positive adult-child interactions utilizing the CLASS method, fostering an environment where every child feels valued and supported.
• Supporting the education, health, welfare, and safety of classroom members and the entire center community by adhering to ECERS/ITERS standards and protocols.
