Works independently with toddlers (2 - 4 years old) and families conducting bi-weekly visits involving reading activities and playing games with the aim of preparing the child for school. This role involves providing safe and effective services, adhering to policies related to safety and boundaries, and attending safety training. The specialist will prepare toddlers for school by establishing rapport with families and conducting lesson plans twice a week. They will also observe parents modeling teaching behaviors, maintain documentation, discuss client confidentiality, and complete periodic assessments like Ages and Stages Questionnaires (ASQs). Referrals for additional services, childcare assistance, and essential needs will be made as required. The position also includes outreach and building community relationships. Duties are performed in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, and may involve visiting homes with substandard living conditions and domestic pets.
