About The Position

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring an Early Childhood Learning Lead Teacher for our program at Taconic Hills Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. This part-time, non-exempt position involves working with children aged 5-12, facilitating hands-on activities, and providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment. The role requires adherence to state and school policies, support for program operations, and acting as a positive role model. The ideal candidate loves working with children, brings energy and patience, encourages curiosity, and works well with teammates and families.

Requirements

• Candidates must meet one of the following: A Bachelor’s degree with at least 12 credits in early childhood education, child development, or a related field, plus one year of full-time teaching experience and one year of staff supervision experience in an early childhood setting
• An Associate’s degree in early childhood education or a related field with a plan of study toward a Bachelor’s degree or a New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential, plus two years of full-time teaching experience and two years of staff supervision experience
• A New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential with one year of full-time teaching experience and one year of staff supervision experience
• A Child Development Associate (CDA) or other office-recognized credential, with a plan of study toward a Bachelor’s degree or a New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential, plus two years of full-time teaching experience and two years of staff supervision experience.
• Medically cleared to perform all job duties

• Able to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Support program operations, which may include attendance records, registration, and staffing responsibilities.
