About The Position

Pete’s Place Early Childhood Education Center is seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for preschool-aged children (2–5 years old). This role is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and classroom activities that support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. The Lead Teacher provides daily supervision of children, fosters positive behavior guidance, maintains strong partnerships with families, and collaborates with assistant teachers and support staff to create a high-quality early learning experience. The ideal candidate is committed to promoting curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, and school readiness while ensuring compliance with state licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and program quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in a licensed early childhood program
  • 32 hours of ECP training or Level 2 on the ECP Registry
  • AHA Pediatric First Aid and CRP certified
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of principles of childhood growth and development
  • Demonstrated ability to apply Early Childhood Development theory in daily activities
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to the individual needs of children
  • Demonstrated ability for decision and problem solving abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member collaborating with staff, families and community resources
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain respectful relations and communication with staff, families, children and community
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise children and ensure a safe environment
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to events happening at all times in classroom, outdoor play areas and on field trips
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • American Heart Association: Heart Saver CPR and Pediatric First Aid certification required to be completed in first 30 days of employment and to be kept current thereafter
  • Current on the Montana Early Childhood Project: Practitioner Registry within 15 days of hire
  • Infant Safety Essentials within 30 days
  • Health and Safety Required Professional Development within 90 days of hire
  • Complete mandatory 16 hour annual training
  • Keep current all St. Peter’s Health and State Licensing required immunizations
