About The Position

We're seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Casual Early Childhood Educator to provide care for the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive needs of toddlers and young children in a safe and healthy environment. The Early Childhood Educator collaborates with the supervisor and all other members of the program team to provide nurturing care, project-based learning, and developmentally appropriate activities in a group setting. The Early Childhood Educator works in accordance with the goals and curriculum plans of the family treatment Centre.

Requirements

A certificate or diploma in Early Childhood Education, or an ECE II, or ECE III equivalency.
Minimum one (1) year of experience working with toddlers and/or young children.
Collaborative team player.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Effective leadership through motivation, role modeling, and support.
Outgoing personality with diverse interests to engage children (e.g., outdoors, arts, sports).
Strong communication skills.
Familiarity with Child Care Regulations and Ministry of Education guidelines.
Emotional competence and self-awareness.
Empathy, patience, and understanding in daily interactions.
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Goal-oriented with the ability to achieve both personal and program objectives.
Adaptable to new situations.
Ability to maintain a clean and organized environment.
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Basic computer skills.
The incumbent is responsible for completing all mandatory training requirements for the position as per agency policy and guidelines.
This position requires the employee to hold a Saskatchewan Class 5 Novice 2 or greater Drivers Licence.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement daily activities based on EELC programming, balancing educator-led and child-directed approaches.
Collaborate with team members to adapt programming to the needs of each child.
Document observations and assessments for the supervisor.
Support children’s overall development.
Assist in preparing nutritious meals and snacks.
Adjust the environment to meet evolving program needs.
Follow supervision policies and procedures as outlined in the EELC Parent Handbook.
Administer medication according to EELC policies.
Complete all reports and documentation accurately and on time.
Participate in meetings, workshops, and training as requested.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Provide direction, guidance, and mentorship to new employees, practicum students, and volunteers.
Demonstrate positive role modeling and uphold agency values.
Communicate and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team as needed.
Identify and request necessary resources for activities.
Reconcile expenses and manage approved expenditures.
Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all facilities and equipment.
Promote and reinforce safe work practices.
Comply with all agency and government safety regulations and guidelines.
