About The Position
Kids & Company is seeking a full-time Early Childhood Educator Level 2 or 3 to join our team at our Evanston location. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide part-time 1:1 support for a child with exceptionalities while also serving as a float educator, supporting classrooms throughout the centre as needed. This is a full-time position with guaranteed full-time hours. Educators will spend a portion of their day providing dedicated 1:1 support and the remainder of their time supporting classrooms across the centre, based on operational needs.
Requirements
- Valid Alberta Early Childhood Educator Level 2 or Level 3 Certification.
- Standard Child Care First Aid & CPR Level B.
- Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 3 months).
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, flexible, and able to adapt to varying classroom needs.
Nice To Haves
- Experience supporting children with exceptionalities or diverse learning needs is considered a strong asset.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized 1:1 support for a child with exceptionalities, fostering participation, independence, and positive development.
- Collaborate with families and external support professionals to help implement individualized goals and strategies.
- Support the implementation of an Emergent Curriculum that meets the developmental needs of children.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
- Support children's emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development.
- Complete daily documentation, observations, health checks, and classroom records.
- Maintain licensing, health, and safety standards.
- Provide float coverage and support across classrooms and age groups as required.
- Work collaboratively with educators and leadership to ensure high-quality care and programming.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development.
