About The Position

Are you motivated to work every day with the goal of helping little minds develop and thrive? If so, we would love for you to join our team at Kids & Company as a 1:1 Support Early Childhood Educator (ECE) at our Port Moody location. This is a part-time contract position working 20 hours per week (4 hours per day, Monday to Friday), providing 1:1 individualized support to a child within a 3–5 classroom in our early learning environment. This contract is in place until October 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension based on program and child needs. Kids & Company operates over 150 childcare centres across Canada and the USA and continues to grow—offering meaningful opportunities for professional development and career advancement. This role is a 1:1 support position for a specific child in a 3–5 classroom at the Kids & Company – Port Moody location. The position is offered as a part-time contract ending October 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension dependent on program and child needs.

Requirements

  • Valid British Columbia ECE License
  • Current Criminal Record Check
  • Valid Standard Child Care First Aid & CPR
  • Immunizations up to date
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 45 pounds
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and colleagues
  • Collaborative, flexible, and adaptable team player
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable using computer systems for documentation and reporting

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 individualized support to a child in a 3–5 classroom, addressing emotional, physical, developmental, and/or behavioural needs
  • Collaborate with classroom educators to ensure successful inclusion and engagement
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and record-keeping
  • Implement and support programming aligned with the Reggio Emilia philosophy
  • Support the child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
  • Maintain attendance records and conduct health and safety checks
  • Work collaboratively with external professionals (e.g., Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Early Interventionists)
  • Support transitions throughout the day and between environments
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and workshops
