Requirements
- Valid British Columbia ECE License
- Recognized ECA certification or related childcare experience
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Valid Standard Child Care First Aid & CPR
- Up-to-date immunizations
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 45 lbs
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills for documentation
Responsibilities
- Support children’s emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development
- Maintain daily documentation, attendance, and health & safety checks
- Assist children through classroom routines and transitions
- Work collaboratively with team members
- Participate in team meetings and training opportunities
- Plan and implement curriculum using a Reggio Emilia–inspired approach
- Maintain detailed observation and developmental documentation
- Collaborate with external professionals (e.g., Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Early Interventionists)
- Take a leadership role within the classroom
- Support after-school programming and activities
- Engage children in age-appropriate play and learning experiences
- Assist the ECE team during afternoon transitions and routines
