About The Position

BGC Okanagan is seeking a caring and energetic Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our Early Years program at the Lake Country Club. In this role, you will help create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where young children can explore, learn, and grow with confidence. You will support daily activities, encourage positive social interactions, and contribute to meaningful early learning experiences. Requirements

  • Early Childhood Assistant Certification is required
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Successful completion of Agency screening process, including a criminal record check
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada to be considered for employment. Eligible applicants include Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and individuals with refugee status who are legally entitled to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in planning, preparing and carrying out developmentally appropriate program and activities. Program schedules include indoor/outdoor, active/quiet and individual group activities.
  • Ensures activities adhere to the BGC Okanagan Policies and Childcare Licensing Regulations.
  • Monitor, guide and assist children in daily activities.
  • Attends to children’s physical needs, which may include diapering, toileting, eating and sleeping.
  • Model developmentally appropriate activities and positive behaviour management techniques. Conducts activities with children on an individual and group basis to promote the development of physical, cognitive, emotional and social skills.
  • Keep program facilities and equipment safe and clean, reporting any repairs and concerns to senior staff.
  • Administers first aid and medication in accordance with established policy.
  • Ensures a healthy and safe environment in which children can interact. Identifies and removes potential hazards.
  • Maintains records, reports problems or concerns to senior staff.
  • Establish positive relationships and open communication with parents/guardians
