About The Position

Eagle’s Wing Child Care and Education Programs is looking for passionate teachers to join our team! Eagle’s Wing is a highly diverse childcare center on the UW-Madison campus that provides early-childhood, 4K, and school-age programs for children from 6 weeks to 8 years old. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education or a closely related field required, plus experience working in a full day, play-based Early Childhood Education program
  • Associate's degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education or a closely related field required, plus two (2) years of experience working in a full day, play-based Early Childhood Education program
  • First-time employees must complete a physical exam (at their own cost) to provide proof of a negative TB skin test prior to the first day of employment, and again every 2- 5 years.
  • The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial criminal background check to be eligible for employment and then every four years thereafter.
  • Additionally, as a caregiver position at Eagle’s Wing Child Care Center, the candidate will also be required to pass an initial background check through the WI Department of Children and Families (DCF) to be eligible for employment and then yearly thereafter.
  • Please note that successful applicants are responsible for ensuring their eligibility to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the United States, a lawful permanent resident, a foreign national authorized to work in the United States without the need of employer sponsorship) on or before the effective date of appointment.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) or more years of experience as a lead teacher in a full day, play-based Early Care and Education program
  • Training in High Scope, Pyramid Model, and/or Conscious Discipline
  • Experience working with infants and toddlers

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates individualized and developmental educational plans for children in collaboration with other stakeholders, as needed
  • Mentors new teachers and students
  • Maintains and documents effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to relay pertinent information and provide updates of child activities per established guidelines and regulations
  • Maintains the safety and physical well-being of children in a designated classroom
  • Plans and facilitates classroom programming and schedules daily classroom activities for an early childhood education facility according to established curriculums
