About The Position

The Early Childhood Education Teacher is responsible for supporting the teaching and learning of preschool children including those who qualify for special education programming. This role involves developing curriculum, providing direct service in an integrated classroom, consulting with various stakeholders, participating in evaluations and meetings, serving as a case manager/liaison for students eligible for special education, formulating reports and individual education plans, and providing remedial and supportive services.

Requirements

• Degree in Early Childhood with and without disabilities PreK-2
• Appropriate level teaching experience
• Strong background in language and an understanding of developmental education
• Experience and/or training in administering and interpreting diagnostic instruments
• Experience in teaching in an integrated environment
• Knowledge of inclusive education both practically and philosophically
• Exhibits strengths in team building and management
• Exhibits strengths in parent out reach and support

Responsibilities

• Develops curriculum based on preschool learning expectations (including social/emotional, English Language Arts, math, science, social studies.)
• Provides direct service to children in a integrated preschool classroom.
• Consults with teachers, children, parents, administrators and offers in-service training.
• Participates in evaluations and meetings as required.
• Serves as case manager/liaison for students eligible for special education programming.
• Participates in formulating reports and individual education plans as requested.
• Provides remedial and supportive services to students requiring such services.
