Early Childhood Education Substitute Teacher - Skip-A-Long Davenport
About The Position
Skip-a-Long Childhood Centers, part of SAL Community Services, is the Quad Cities area’s leading provider of early childhood care and education. We provide a safe, secure and supportive environment centered on how playing can charge the mind of the children we care for. This position is for variable hours on an as-needed basis. Hours/days expected to work will include at least one day per week, in addition to summers, holiday breaks, and/or spring breaks during the school year. The Substitute Teacher supports developing a quality learning environment which is developmentally appropriate and actively engages children in the learning process. Through experience this position will serve to enhance the child’s physical, emotional, cognitive, and social growth. The Substitute Teacher collaborates in implementing curriculum as well as maintaining appropriate and regular communication with families.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years old or older with a High School Diploma or equivalency certificate (GED) required.
- Meet the requirements established by the regulatory agency for the state in which employed.
- Must obtain required background clearances.

Responsibilities
- Ensure safety practices in creating a secure environment that minimizes the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Assist in creating a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages social interaction, emotional well-being and growth.
- Assist in the design and implementation of lesson plans based on knowledge of individual children’s interests and needs.
- Develop strong relationship with family/guardian to support each child’s development.
- Engage in continuous professional growth and development.
