About The Position

The YMCA of Greater Toledo is seeking a Part-Time Early Childhood Child Care Assistant Teacher to join their team. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Understanding and knowledge of children, their behavior, and developmentally appropriate practices.
Willingness to enroll in CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, and Prevention of Infectious Diseases training (covered by the YMCA).
Warm and friendly personality.
Willingness to interact with the children.
Meet DCY licensing qualifications in training and background check.

Responsibilities

Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing the lesson plan and daily classroom schedule of activities.
Provide daily care for children ranging in ages 6 weeks to 5 years, including diaper changes, bottle feeding, helping children sleep, providing comfort, picking up toys, cleaning the environment, and engaging in activities like singing and dancing.
Actively supervise children and move around the classroom.
Build relationships with students and their families.
Play games, help children build friendships, and serve as a positive role model.
Serve snacks and lunches.
Perform light cleaning to maintain a clean and inviting space.
