About The Position

The YMCA of Greater Toledo is seeking a Part-Time Early Childhood Child Care Assistant Teacher to join their team. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Understanding and knowledge of children, their behavior, and developmentally appropriate practices.
Enrollment in CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, and Prevention of Infectious Diseases courses (covered by the YMCA).
Warm and friendly personality and willingness to interact with children.
Meet DCY licensing qualifications in training and background check.

Responsibilities

Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing the lesson plan and daily classroom schedule of activities.
Provide typical daily care for children ranging in ages 6 weeks to 5 years.
Daily care activities include diaper changes, bottle feeding, helping children sleep, providing comfort, picking up toys, cleaning the environment, and engaging in singing and dancing.
Actively supervise children and move around the classroom.
Build relationships with students and their families.
Play games, help children build friendships, and be a positive role model.
Serve snacks and lunches.
Perform light cleaning to ensure the space is clean and inviting.
