About The Position

The Bennett Family Center is seeking an Early Childhood Development Educator -Pre-K Counts committed to the process of creating and providing high quality learning environments for children and families. Assignment will be in a preschool classroom. The successful candidate will be responsible for: · Supporting and maintaining high quality classroom standards in a mixed age setting · Coordinating and implementing an innovative curriculum model with a team of colleagues · Establishing and maintaining relationships of cooperation and respect with all co-workers, supervisors, and families · Providing oversight and training of interns and student teachers in early childhood education undergraduate programs · Maintaining standards in accordance with Pre-K Counts, National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation and PA Keystone STARS 4 quality standards This position will be filled at the Intermediate Professional level. Clarification of minimum requirements: This position minimally requires a Bachelor's degree, plus 1 year of relevant experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1+ years of relevant experience; or minimum of Child Development (CDA) Credential; see Commonwealth of Pennsylvania PA Career Lattice information and NAEYC guidelines for typical experience and education requirements
  • None Required to hold PA Early Childhood Education Teaching Certification.
  • A health physical with TB test is also required prior to starting the position.
  • PA State Police Criminal Background Check
  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form
  • Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check
  • National Sex Offender Registry Clearance (NSOR).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience using the Environmental Rating Scale (ERS), Positive Behavior Support (PBS), and PA Early Learning Standards (ELS) highly desired.
