About The Position

The Early Childhood Coordinator will primarily support high-quality early childhood programming and oversight at 1-2 centers. This role involves supervising, supporting, and providing resources and training to staff in areas such as child development, curriculum implementation, staff development, classroom/behavior management, and record keeping. The coordinator will also support the planning, coordination, and implementation of program activities and parent meetings. A key aspect of the role is identifying and supporting the special needs of children, including disabilities, social/emotional health, and dual language learning, with assistance from specialists and coaches. Additionally, the coordinator will network and collaborate with community leadership teams and professionals, and provide leadership and accountability for designated areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Development or closely related field.
  • Two years of lead teaching experience working with young children (ages 3-8).
  • Minimum of two years of experience leading, mentoring and supporting child-development services.

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of Early Childhood Education supervisory experience.
  • Experience implementing High Scope, Pyramid Model or Conscious Discipline.
  • Proven knowledge of Practice Based Coaching.
  • Experience with Child Plus or Teaching Strategies Gold.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a liaison and fosters communication between internal and external stakeholders to provide clear and consistent information.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of early childhood curriculums, professional development, and operating policies and procedures to comply with regulations, institutional policies, and unit objectives.
  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of early childhood education staff to ensure the safety and physical well-being of children in a specified child care facility.
  • Relays effective and pertinent communication to internal and external stakeholders from unit leadership regarding current program and site activities.
  • Implements and supervises the operations of special programming and events.
  • Monitors licensing, accreditation documentation, and other required program reports according to established rules and regulations.
  • Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees.
  • Assists in developing and auditing the unit budget.

Benefits

  • Base Salary Range - $57,445.42 - $61,285.09
  • Prorated salary of $50,839.20 - $54,237.3 for 46 weeks of work each year starting last week in July through second week in June
